Two hand-drawn animations

Two hand drawn animations from a animation class I took at SCAD. They still have problems with them, didn't do them perfectly, but they are just some examples of my traditional cell animation work

In this assignment we were supposed to show weight, how a character would struggle with lifting a heavy object. I think I got the main idea of it, but the animation has a few little problems with it....

In this assignment we were supposed to do a lip sync test! I common assignment for cel-animators to do. This one still has some little problems with it..like in the beginning with the fist slam..it doesn't read string enough..and then there are some other little problems with the rest of the animation.

My professor said that some of the problems I have with my animations is that there are parts where the animation kinda sticks and dosen't flow right..and that I can't always get a consistent quality throughout the whole animation.

Doing hand drawn cel animation is a lot more difficult than doing it digitally. However, with this class I was sble to learn more about the principles of animation, and learned many things that I can apply to my digital animation work, even non-cel animation, the rules of animation apply to all mediums of animation.

Yet in the future I'm probably gonna just stick with digital animation; cut-out animation and cel animation. Sadly the need for hand drawn on paper cel animation is dying out in the animation industry, but I still think it is a needed skill for people who do 2D animation to have.
